Then select decel pop. You will find 3 different options. Suggest going with the highest setting. This typically is all that you will need to do to eliminate decel pop with an FP3. I know this from experience having previously had the same bike.
The FuelPak is easy to use and works flawlessly. I had V and H short shots installed along with a screaming eagle air filter and they ran it through the Dyno for the Stage 1 upgrade. My question — is there any benefit to getting a Vance and Hines fuel pak 3 to install? The engine pops some on deceleration and I am thinking that might not be great for it.
Would the fuel pak give me better performance than the setting done by the dealer?
It has advanced deceleration modes for smoother operation. May reduce, or eliminate decel popping. Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram.Download the intuitive Fuelpak FP3 app to your compatible iOS or Android device and wield the power to tune your bike right in your pocket.

AutoTune is a powerful tool that allows you to tune your bike while you ride using data collected from the stock O2 sensors, for any air cleaner, exhaust, and camshaft combination you can throw at it.
Simply flash the bike into AutoTune mode, enjoy your ride, and flash the collected data back into your ECM once you're back home. Want less popping on deceleration? FP3 has you covered with the built-in Decel Pop tool. Notice a lag in your fly-by-wire throttle system? Change your idle RPM, raise your rev limit, add aftermarket camshafts, or adjust tables including VE, Target Air Fuel Ratio, and spark advance, all from your smartphone.
When it comes down to fuel management, the FP3 is hands down my first choice. Ease of use, tuning capabilities and availability of maps are second to none. I highly recommend this product. If you're looking for a tuner, this is it. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone. Viewed through the smartphone to display speed, RPM, cylinder head temperature, voltage, gear selection and other vital information. AutoTune allows users to precisely tune their motorcycle for their intake and exhaust combination, avoiding costly and demanding dyno runs or the installation of additional equipment.
Fuelpak FP3 allows users to modify their throttle response with 4 additional tuned settings. Decel pop reduces the amount of decel pop that riders experience. The FP3 can already read and clear trouble codes. Now it takes it one step further, giving you a specific description of that trouble code to better help diagnose the potential cause s. Fuel economy will read the current fuel economy in real time. The Average Fuel Economy keeps track of fuel usage over time and calculates the overall fuel economy.
All customers have to do is select the desired camshaft and flash the change into the ECM. Every map goes through a full tuning process and is reviewed by calibration engineers. Obviously the Fuelpak has to turn the fuel back on at some point or the engine would die.Teardown / Look Inside of Fuelpak FP3 from Vance and Hines
Not all popping can be eliminated, but this feature does lessen it. Mode 23 controls the rpm where the fuel is turned back on. Try lowering this by one number and see if it helps you.
If you have done this and have gotten to 14 or your bike is stalling when coming to a stop, that is all you can do and you will not be able to lessen the popping without changing the pipes or installing quieter baffles.
The popping is not harmful, just annoying. EFI is very efficient and that makes it very difficult to read the plugs. They will not color the same way as with a carbureted engine does.
If you are not having rideability issues it is unlikely you are running too lean. Increase the value in mode 23 to 25 and try that. This will probably lead to some decel popping; it will be a trade off. Always trust the internet settings. They are the most up-to-date. We do occasionally make adjustments to the maps and those adjustments are reflected in the map values on the internet.

The value at mode 21 should read 0 with your hand off the throttle and immediately start scrolling up 1,2,3… as you twist the throttle open and should climb all the way to 99 at wide open throttle. If it does not do this, go to mode 19 and roll the throttle all the way open then roll it all the way shut by hand, do not let it shut by itself.
Go back to mode 21 and re-verify. Mode 22 shows the current engine rpm. Start the engine and go to mode A warm engine will idle between rpm which should show up as a in mode The Fuelpak is warranted to be free of manufacturing defects for a period of 90 days after the initial purchase date.My decision to get the FP3 over my original Screaming Eagle tuner most likely comes down to a meercat, like interest in new technology and my love for analysing things.
The thought of being able to mount my iPhone on the handlebars [I have a nifty little mount from Roam Accessories ] and being able to watch all the performance telemetry was just mind-blowing.
You can select the tuning desired, specifying your bike, and the configuration of exhaust and air intake you are running. The app software is always utilising the most up to date information within the Vance and Hines database and reacting correctly.
The pre-set tuning options are all for higher performance items, for example, the Crusher Performance air intake. However, it is possible to tune with stock items too. Here you need to use the Auto-tune feature; you plug it in, turn it on and ride. This feature, of course, requires you to keep the unit attached while riding. This setting utilises all the factory sensors to find the optimum set up, all very cool!
One of my favourites is the ability to adjust the deceleration pop. For me, I absolutely love the pop from excess fuel in the pipes igniting, however for those wanting slightly more civilised sounds you can reduce this. Or of course, increase it as I did! Pop pop pop! The fuel pack will link to your VIN and can thus only be used on an individual bike. As a tiny plug-in device it will fit within your battery case and be invisible. Thanks for any advice or opinions! ZblizzOct 21, I think that you have at figured out. I also agree with you regarding ease of installation.
This guy has completed dyno tests on practically every combination of pipes and ACs, and has saved the maps of them all. So that when you buy the PCIII from him, you tell him your bike, pipes and AC types, and he will map it for you based on his previous dyno tests. I spoke to them on the phone on Fridayand they suggested that once they map it, they don't even suggest a dyno test after installation The price was also competitive as well. I will be ordering mine soon.
I'll try to keep you up to date on how it works out. PeytsOct 21, I don't know how often something like that happends,Maybe he connected something wrong or had a virus that got installed he'd said he had it for about a month and it worked good then it fried his ECM man I bet that was expensive As I get older I tend to follow the K.
How this whole thing started for me was I bought the bike new just a little over a month ago It seems to run a bit rich I called up the stealership and spoke with the service manager,I figured since the bike was at the time less then 1 month old they would make adjustments to compensate for flaws from the factory.
The bike was the last brand new 07 there,So I got a pretty good deal on it,But it's really hard to say when it was actually built it could have been there in the dealership since mid Anyway they told me I would have to pay for them to adjust the ECM and for any downloads that may be I'd need.
I thought that was B.Installed as a plug-in accessory, the Fuelpak allows the user to customize air-fuel ratios created by the factory engine control module ECMwhich manages engine parameters including ignition, mixture, throttle position and emission controls. Improved performance and fuel efficiency may result when the stock ECM is matched to the custom exhaust system by the custom parameters entered into the Fuelpak.
The procedure for entering and storing values in the Fuelpak is straightforward and relies on the manufacturer's information supplied for specific exhaust systems. Consult the Fuelpak setting chart included with the Fuelpak to determine your setting reference number. The setting reference number references the make, model and year of your Harley Davidson, plus the specific custom exhaust equipment you have installed. Go to the setting values section in the second half of the setting chart and locate your setting reference number, followed by the values to be entered for each of the 18 programming modes of the Fuelpak.
Remove the four screws that secure the clear cover to the Fuelpak control module. The two LED digits on the left represent the programming mode number. This number is advanced by pressing the single button to the left of the LEDs.
The two LED digits on the right represent the programming value. This number is incremented up or down by pressing one of the two buttons to the right of the LED.
Turn on the ignition switch and the handlebar run switch. Do not start the engine. Verify that the LEDs on the Fuelpak are illuminated. Consult the correct line in the setting values section for the programming values for each mode. Beginning with Mode 1, press the programming value buttons to the right of the LED to enter the correct programming value. When the value is entered, press the mode select button to the left of the LED to advance to Mode 2.
If a negative value is required, use the lower programming value button to decrement past zero into the negative range. Continue until the values for all 18 programming modes have been entered. Advance to Mode 19 to calibrate the Fuelpak to the throttle position sensor. Twist the throttle all the way open, then bring it back to fully closed. Turn the igntion switch off. Install the clear cover on the Fuelpak module and secure it with the four screws.
