Edit: Meant to say it might be crashing from too high of an overclock, trying removing the memory overclock and see how it goes, or maybe dropping that down Though when the overclocks on my failed; it just reset the video driver rather then crashed the whole computer.

Have you checked to see if your PSU is operating in single-rail mode or dual-rail mode? Apparently that stupid Corsair Link Digital software can switch modes, so god knows what the default mode is?
Joined Dec 7, Messages 3, It's totally sounds like the psu. How old is that one?Hey, so I bought my computer in august and when I started to play games the card would overheat and would shut off and the fan would start blowing. I posted in different forums and they said it might be the drivers, and someone also recomended I get msi.
So I did all that and everything was fine I don't know what to do anymore, the computer is new and there should be nothing wrong with it, I'm kinda bummed out because it's my first Pc. Since your PC is still under warranty, i strongly suggest you to contac your seller or Acer support service and let them service it.
I tried with acer support and they gave me a number to call and the number didn't work at all, it made the sound of dialup when I called. I wanna send it into get fixed but I don't know how to.

Acer Support Videos. One user reported his computer suddenly shutting down with a bright orange flame gushing out of his graphics card. While another reported seeing sparks followed by the screen suddenly turning black in the middle of a gaming session with foul smelling chemical smoke subsequently pouring out of his machine.
There were several investigations by a number of reputable technology outlets to try and identify the culprit behind it all. All of which have now been linked to the same VRM overheating issue. EVGA's voltage regulation circuitry is not to blame for the mishap.
The solution is rated to withstand temperatures of up to c and deliver up to amps of current at that temperature. Enough to keep the GTX 's amp requirements happily met with some small room to spare for overclocking.
Which ends up heating itself, eventually crossing the point of thermal runaway and failing without warning. Speaking to Gamersnexus. When the VRM hits the critical amount of stress, it will [enter a state of] thermal runaway and burn out with no warning.
Tom's Hardware's testing revealed that the VRMs can hit temperatures as high as c in an open bench at an ambient temperature of 22c whilst running Furmark.
Installed 1080Ti & now comp keeps shutting down
This was in bench test scenario with 22C ambient. A VRM trying to provide too much current at too high a temperature will quickly end up like the above from reddit. Alternatively, users have the option to return their graphics cards directly to EVGA in exchange for a card with the thermal mod already installed. In the meantime, if you were planning to buy any dual fan GTX or GTX from EVGA we would advise you to hold off that purchase until new units equipped with the thermal mod are rolled out.

Try to disable fast boot in bios, caused similar issues for me. The gigabyte cards sag quite a bit so try prop it up with something, poor contact with connector as menthol mentioned. Last edited by Buellersdayoff; at PM. Originally Posted by Trigger Originally Posted by aceisme.

Right now I am thinking it might be the power supply not being strong enough to keep everything up and running. It is several years old and I thought it was good enough for this card. Now I am not sure. The power supply is a Corsair TX W. Does anyone has any suggestions of solving this problem?
