I would like the two 1x1 tiles to be in a column, as opposed to a row. As an example, in the attached screenshot, I would like the 'Posh lights' tile to be underneath the 'TV lights' tile as opposed to the right of it.
Secondly, is it possible to hide the status of a switch on a tile? No need to apologize In a lot of cases you can just start a new Tileset as that forces a row to wrapbut it won't stack your 1x1 Tiles in this case. The number of Blank Tiles required depends on your physical screen width and Panel Tile Size setting. I'm just emulating a width so as to demonstrate when 2 Blank Tiles are required.
We'll keep this in mind. There's already a Feature Request to allow this to be customized e. Any updates on these new features? I'm new to the platform and these were the first things I noticed were lacking in the platform.
We have a major release planned for this week that adds many enhancements to Panel appearance control Themes including background wallpaper, Tile transparency, and more. This is a case of us prioritizing functionality ie: more powerful and flexible Themes over reducing complexity just for now - no simplification of the Layout Builder. But I'm a little confused by your example. Simply combing your Tiles into fewer Tilesets or only 1 Tileset will eliminate the premature wrapping and allow you to fill out the right side of the screen!
Please email me at Support ActionTiles. ActionTiles layout builder already can produce nearly any arrangement - it just takes some planning and understanding of how the list order is rendered. Customer support service by UserEcho. Community forum Knowledge base.Any reason for this? I doubt the lighting groups would work. Many of the newer features in the new app are not built on groovy. You may want to contact ActionTiles support directly and ask. Tagging alex. The API for the lighting groups is not published, yet.
Maybe one day this feature could be offered. Agreed, that is why the new lighting groups are build on top of protocol specific groups. Suddenly it is not visible in the new app. It not allows to add remotes to the Lighting group, but any bulb, switch or dimmer wifi, zigbee or zwave any. I am still seeing it show in the new app on iOS. Note that yes, it is limited to adding only lights and the hub. The group is made available within automations as a single device which will send commands as multicast to all lights within said group.
Most wireless protocols are built on the idea of a specific device sending another specific device a message, or 1-to-1 message transfer. This works great and is how nearly all communication is done on the SmartThings Zigbee and Z-Wave networks. But a lot of wireless protocols also have the concept of a specific device sending a message to many devices, or 1-to-many message transfer.
This can be incredibly useful for times when you want to send the same message to a bunch of different devices such as when wanting to send an on or off command to a bunch of lights!
Up until recently we did not expose a way for users to send these 1-to-many messages aka group commands. I should have phrase my sentence better.
Yes, the Lighting Group functionality is in the new app.I recently replaced my traditional home security system with a more modern setup. This results in improved visibility, control and customization abilities of your home monitoring solution. To interact with the old security system, you typically use bulky keypads with the back-lit LCD screen. The solution: smart touchscreens! This is where ActionTiles comes in.
ActionTiles can talk to SmartThings and create an interactive browser-based experience into your SmartThings setup. This is what the master panel looks like for my house some tiles are blurred out for privacy reasons :. This panel is actually much bigger… I can stroll down to control our smart thermostats, view the cameras we have on our house and a lot more.
ActionTiles rocks as I can configure panels as much as I like in a browser experience from my desk and wherever they are being consumed, they automatically get updated. Now, how to show these ActionTiles panels where the keypads were, without breaking the bank… the solution: cheap tablets! Amazon Kindle Fire tablets make for a great inexpensive kiosk for your home. The bulk of this post is about the second two items in this list, but first, let me address powering the Kindle.
The existing security system had a wire that ran to the main security system. Because the Kindle tablets are using my existing wireless network to show the ActionTiles panel, I only needed to supply power, but just 5V of power.
You can find tons of options available… I got mine from Konnected. This way, the tablets charge for 3 hours, then run off battery discharging themselves for 3 hours which is more what they were designed to do. You can always reset your Kindle back to the factory settings and set it up the same way it was when you first unboxed it. There are a few steps you need to perform to do this. The steps are almost identical, you just have to pay attention to devices.
The goal is to get back to the initial screen when you first unbox your Kindle. Your goal is to get to the settings screen when prompted for your default language.
More recent Kindles look like this:. After selecting your default language, the first step is to connect to WiFi. To get passed this step, select any WiFi network, start typing in a password until you get the Cancel button at the bottom. Select that followed by Skip to skip connecting to WiFi in the guided setup. Swipe down from the top of the screen and select the gear for the Settings menu:.We have been working very hard to re-engineer and extensively Beta test! It is finally happening; you have been very patient, thank-you!
ActionTiles has been totally reinvented, but honors the simplicity and power of its SmartTiles roots that you know and love. ActionTiles is packed with new features such as durable login sessions, real-time Tile updates, secure Panel Sharing, in-browser configuration UI, and more.
Your feedback will contribute to the many features still in the pipeline. Without it I would probably be stuck with only the plug that I used to turn my Christmas tree on and off with.
Me too, my work firewall blocks actiontiles. Looking forward to this! At 3am, apparently a stray mouse click inserted it! How will this work, will it have to be used in a browser like Chrome? Will I still need to use Fully Kiosk Browser for the wake on motion? ActionTiles works in many types of browsers, but old ones might not work eg, Chromium engine on Android prior to Android OS 4.
To use ActionTiles, you create an ActionTiles account. One AT account can use multiple ST locations. Multiple ST locations can be used by many AT accounts.
